Creating Your Account

VanRoute requires a free account to save your vehicles, routes, and preferences. Creating an account takes less than a minute.

Sign Up Steps

1. Open VanRoute

Launch the VanRoute app on your device. You'll see the welcome screen with two options:

  • Sign Up - Create a new account
  • Sign In - If you already have an account

Tap Sign Up to create a new account.

2. Enter Your Email Address

Enter a valid email address. This will be used to:

  • Sign in to your account
  • Receive important notifications
  • Reset your password if needed

Important: Use an email address you have access to, as you'll need to verify it.

3. Create a Password

Choose a strong password that:

  • Is at least 8 characters long
  • Contains a mix of letters and numbers
  • Is unique (not used on other sites)

Tip: Use a password manager to generate and store a secure password.

4. Confirm Your Password

Re-enter your password to ensure there are no typos.

5. Accept Terms and Privacy Policy

Review and accept:

  • Terms of Service - Rules for using VanRoute
  • Privacy Policy - How we protect your data

Tap the checkboxes to accept both documents.

6. Tap "Create Account"

Once all fields are filled correctly, tap the Create Account button.

Email Verification

After creating your account:

  1. Check your email for a verification message from VanRoute
  2. Open the email and click the verification link
  3. Return to the app - Your account is now active!

Didn't receive the email?

  • Check your spam/junk folder
  • Wait a few minutes (can take up to 5 minutes)
  • Tap "Resend verification email" in the app

Account Information

Your VanRoute account includes:

  • Email address - Used to sign in
  • Password - Stored securely and encrypted
  • Profile - Name and preferences (optional)
  • Vehicles - Your saved vehicle specifications
  • Routes - Saved and recent routes
  • Preferences - App settings and favorites

Privacy and Security

VanRoute takes your privacy seriously:

  • Passwords are encrypted - We never store passwords in plain text
  • Data is secure - All data transmitted over HTTPS
  • No selling of data - We never sell your personal information
  • Minimal collection - We only collect what's necessary
  • You control your data - Delete your account anytime

Troubleshooting Sign Up

"Email already exists"

This email is already registered. Options:

  1. Sign in with your existing account
  2. Reset password if you forgot it
  3. Use a different email address

"Invalid email address"

Ensure your email:

  • Has the correct format (user@domain.com)
  • Doesn't contain spaces or special characters
  • Is typed correctly

"Password too weak"

Your password must:

  • Be at least 8 characters
  • Contain letters and numbers
  • Not be a common password

"Network error"

Check your internet connection:

  • Ensure WiFi or mobile data is connected
  • Try switching networks
  • Move to an area with better signal

Managing Your Account

Change Email Address

  1. Open SettingsAccount
  2. Tap Email Address
  3. Enter new email and confirm
  4. Verify new email address

Change Password

  1. Open SettingsAccount
  2. Tap Change Password
  3. Enter current password
  4. Enter and confirm new password
  5. Tap Save

Delete Account

To permanently delete your account:

  1. Open SettingsAccount
  2. Scroll to bottom and tap Delete Account
  3. Confirm deletion
  4. Enter password to verify

Warning: This action cannot be undone. All your vehicles, routes, and data will be permanently deleted.
